(WBC 175 lb. title) Dawson (31-1, 18 KOs) wins the title after a long delay of what ended up the correct after Hopkins (52-6-2, 32 KOs) was thrown to the ground. Hopkins couldn’t continue as he seemingly separated his left shoulder. An ex ray and examination post fight by Dr. Sam Thurbera Hopkins produced a diagnosis of a separation of the acromioclavicular joint which holds together the collar bone and shoulder blade. Time was 2:48.  Rough tactics by both fighters occurred in this short lived fiasco.

COME FROM BEHIND WIN FOR LAD FROM T.J.

Antonio DeMarco, (134.4), Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico TKO 11 Jorge Linares, (134.6), Tokyo, Japan. (WBC 135 lb. title)
DeMarco (26-2-1, 19 KOs) looked to be on his way to a decision loss to Linares (31-2, 20 KOs), who’s face a bloody mess, Turning the tide, DeMarco stepped it up in round eleven causing a halt at 2:32.

GARCIA REMIANS UNBEATEN

Danny Garcia, (139.4), Philadelphia, PA SD 12 Kendall Holt, (139.4), Paterson, N.J. Garcia (22-0, 14 KOs) and Holt (27-5, 15 KOs) fought at such a slow methodical pace you could count the landed punches.  In a close fight, where Garcia clearly won, the judges varied widely as they went 117-111 twice in favor of Garcia and an odd 115-113 went to Holt.

BROOKLYN’S PAULIE WINS IN TEN

Paulie Malignaggi, (147.4), Brooklyn, NY UD 10 Orlando Lora, (147.5), Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Malignaggi (30-4, 6 KOs) looked anything but "magical" after being hurt by Lora (28-2-1, 19 KOs) in round one.  Afterward, Paulie pulled it together and won an easy decision by scores of 100-90, 99-91, and 98-92.

KIMBO SLICE AKA KEVIN FERGUSON “WORLD TOUR” CONTINUES

Grand Island, Nebraska– After not making it in MMA ot pro wrestling, Kimbo Slice, Miami, FL, now fighting as Kevin Ferguson,244, 17 lbs. more than in his boxing debut a couple of months ago, blasted out the now 2-4 Nebraska resident Tay Bledsoe, 209, at 1:52 of the first round. Bledose was stopped for the fourth straight time.

JEFF MAYWEATHER’S RETURN TO ARGENTINA A WINNER!

Buenos Aires, Argentina– Last time trainer Jeff Mayweather went to Argentina with Panama’s Celestino Caballero (35-4, 23 KOs) he was screwed out of what looked like to many an easy win over Jonathan Victor Barros (33-2-1, 18 KOs). This time Cabalerro did an even bigger number on Barros by wiining the WBA featherweight (126) title with Friday night with scores of 116-112, 118-111, 116-111. Celestino, a former 122 lb. kingpin had the now ex-champ going in round 11, but could not finish him.
