JUDGES SHOULD REALLY BE EXAMINED
Oklahoma City– In light of the past events of Kermit Cintron v. Sergio Martinez and even further back as to the ludicrous call ofJoel Casamayor v. Jose Santa Cruz, one has to wonder what fight the judges were watching. This pair of fights is just a scratch at the surface of absurd calls.
MYOPIC JUDGES GET LOTS OF WORK So, who is to blame for bad judges getting fight after fight? Is it the state athletic commissions? Or perhaps the sanctioning bodies? I would like to say it was the judges themselves. One thing is for sure, the sport of boxing will continue to be perceived as corrupt until an answer to this question is answered.
BOXING HASN’T CHANGED MUCH CONSIDERING
Technology has improved over the years. According to Moore’s law, technological computing doubles every 18 months. I have a feeling that this would result in better contacts. I wish to think that it is a result of poor vision and not corrupt officials; but I would gamble and say that isn’t the case.
EYE EXAMS BEFORE EACH FIGHT NEEDED
This article sounds sarcastic but I am not joking; maybe the judges really do need to pass an eye exam before a fight. It is completely absurd to think Cintron was even close to winning a decision. That being said, I am a fan of Kermit, but I am a fan of Roy Jones, my idol, the reason I got into the sport but it doesn’t take an optometrist to see he got knocked the fudge out by Antonio Tarver.
