34-1 CHAMPION DEFENDS WORLD TITLE
Los Angeles, CA– UFC 173 comes to you live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. World bantamweight (135) champion Renan Barao (34-1) will stop T.J. Dillashaw (10-2) early. No doubt about it, this one is a mismatch. Good young fighter, but Barao is top 5 p4p no question.
WILL CORMIER LOSE A ROUND TONIGHT?
In the co-main, undefeated (he’s never even lost a round) wrestling beast Daniel Cormier (14-0) takes on ultra veteran (A.K.A. “ancient”) Dan Henderson (30-11). This is a fairly interesting light heavyweight (205) bout on paper. I’m no expert but I’d say a “Daniel” wins this one…..kidding. I like Cormier hands down and is a real threat for light heavyweight king Jon Jones.
BEST BOUT ON UFC 173 CARD?
On the undercard, welterweight (170) Robbie Lawler (22-10-0-1) takes on Jake Ellenberger (29-7) in the fight I am definitely most interested in on this card.
It’s a pick ‘em, and I’m leaning towards Lawler. Really about as 50-50 as it gets, folks. Definitely tune in for this fight. Bantamweight Takeya Mizugaki (19-7-2) faces Francisco Rivera (10-2-0-1) in a nice matchup that probably favors Mizugaki based on experience. Rounding out the main card, lightweights (155) Jamie Varner (21-9-1-2) and James Crouse (20-5) will meet and I expect Varner to win.
