Floyd “Superstar” Mayweather

SOLE BOXING SUPERSTAR MAKES RARE APPEARANCE

San Francisco, CA– The sport of boxing is really a business. That being said, the “business of boxing” is in full swing as we are less than 48 hours away from the World welterweight (147 lb.) championship battle between Floyd Mayweather and Robert Guerrero airing on Showtime Pay Per View. With the sport/business chasing MMA and the UFC in popularity, this will be one of two times this year where pugilism beats out the new kid on the block.

ELITE SUPERSTAR CONTROLS BOXING

While some of you tried like hell to put Manny Pacquiao in Mayweather’s league, the Filipino had a chance. But that was before Manny started fighting nothing but fellow clients of his promoter Top Rank. When Pacquiao faced conquerer (by decision) Tim Bradley last June, his fans didn’t show up in the numbers they had prior. In the Juan Manuel Marquez KO loss last December, the Filipino fans seemed disinterested before and even more afterwards.

NO CONTROVERSY AFTER FLOYD FIGHTS!

After Pacquiao lost “controversially” to Bradley, you had the feeling beforehand that the Pacman had…he’d had it! There was no fire in his belly for Bradley and only a pilot light lit for Marquez IV. With Pacquiao the big money fight he nixed was the Mayweather clash. I kept saying that Manny was going to get beat, that he was ripe for the taking, but all I got were tons of emails from Filipino fans were trying to “downplay” the manner in which Pacquiao was put to sleep.

ARREST FLOYD ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FOR ASSAULTING PACQUIAO

Wonder What Floyd Could Have Done?

Truth be told, Manny Pacquiao was never in Floyd’s elite club, not as a fighter, not as a draw, not as a personality. Not that Floyd is the “second coming of Muhammad Ali,” for he isn’t. But sans any doubt, Floyd is, was and will always be superior to Manny Pacquiao. On Saturday night, the sport and business of boxing takes center stage in the sports world. In closing, whether you like Floyd Mayweather or not, he is the closest thing we have in boxing to a real superstar!

WIN OR LOSE, FLOYD IN THE BIG FIGHT COME SEPTEMBER!

If he loses to Robert Guerrero, we will see a rematch in September. If Mayweather wins, he takes on another foe that will fatten up his bank account, hoping to add to his unbeaten record. Win or lose, the superstar returns in September! As for Mayweather ever fighting Pacquiao, this mismatch will never take place. For if it did, there would be mass suicide in the streets where Tagalog is spoken!

REAL REASON PACQUIAO WOULDN’T ACCEPT DRUG TESTS!

Whether or not he was dirty is not being debated here, but what I’m about to drop on you is the cold hard facts of life when it comes to Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Promoter Bob Arum is not stupid, arrogant yes, dumb no. So when he could have made the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight and many, many millions of dollars, Arum instead opted to put Manny on the Top Rank diet of softies. If Arum thought that the ending of Mayweather-Pacquiao had even a slim chance of going to Pac, he would have made it. But he, myself, and everybody else that doesn’t speak Tagalog knows, Manny Pacquiao couldn’t tie Floyd Mayweather’s boxing boots!
