San Francisco, CA– Last Friday someone said to me, “Did you hear about Ronda Rousey?” Believing he was talking about her inking an eight fight contract with the formerly all-male Ultimate Fighting Championships, the caller corrected me and said that he was talking about Rousey, a 2008 Judo Olympic Bronze medalist making a world class boxer submit in a Southern California gym. Although it was second hand news to him, he said the originator was none other than the best writer in the MMA game Dave Meltzer of the WrestlingObserver.com website and newsletter.

With the arrival of the hard copy of Meltzer’s January 7 edition of his weekly newsletter, which by all accounts is the recognized “trade paper’ of MMA, on page 13 Meltzer writes. “Here’s a funny story, probably certain to be denied, but there is actually video of of it although for obvious reasons I don’t ever expect the video to surface. Vic Darchinyan, a pretty well known boxer of Armenian descent who has held several world titles, was in a gym with Rousey who trains judo with a number of Armenians including Karo Parisyan and Manvel Gamburyam.”

While it was rumored that Rousey was the one that had hurt UFC 135 lb. male champ Dominick Cruz, that wasn’t the case. But she has stifled many a man in the gym as we pick up Meltzer’s story here: “Somehow that led to him (Vic) saying that no woman could throw or armbar him. So they locked up and she launched him
with throws one after the other and he had no way of stopping them. Then they went to grapple and it was seconds before she armbarred him and people broke it up right away for fear she might hurt him with the move.”

RONDA HAS FIRST UFC FIGHT SET
Rousey, who has captured both the world of MMA and the mainstream media in such a minuscule amount of time and just six fights, will headline a PPV card on February 21 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. The mark, er, I mean her opponent is Liz Carmouche (7-2) a striker with some jiu jitsu skills. The big question is whether Liz can last out the first round to me, not win the fight. Miesha Tate almost made it out of the opening round by going four minutes and change before Ronda slapped an armbar on her.
FEMALE BOXER “OWNED” MEN IN GYM!
Retired boxer Lucia Rijker, unbeaten against her own sex, reportedly lost to a man in a unsanctioned mixed match in Europe. That being said, she still kicked a lot of male ass in boxing gyms all around the world.
CARMOUCHE THE FIRST OPENLY GAY UFC FIGHTER!
On a two-fight winning streak, Liz Carmouche lost to the best fighter she ever faced in Sarah Kaufman. This is the same Sarah Kaufman that can fight and trained to avoid Rousey’s patented armbar. Even in doing so Kaufman lasted less than one minute! They are making a big deal about Carmouche being open about her being a lesbian, etc., etc. Look, if you’ve been following combat sports involving females, you’ve seen your share of obvious and not so obvious lesbians.
COMING OUT OF CLOSET ALMOST COST CHRISTY MARTIN HER LIFE!
Remember when the highest paid female boxer in history Christy Martin told her her husband Jim a couple of years ago she was leaving him for a woman, he both shot and stabbed her. Incredibly Martin survived and Jim is in jail for life!
