Miguel Cotto

MIGUEL COTTO-SAUL ALVAREZ

Sacramento, CA– This fight would be an absolute blockbuster on Pay Per View. Miguel Cotto is an established star, and Saul Alvarez has a huge fan base in Mexico along with a growing U.S. fan contingent. Both men have considerable boxing ability and good power. Cotto is more experienced and would likely be able to use the younger man’s flaws to his advantage. Cotto takes a clear decision in this fight.

AMIR KHAN-TIMOTHY BRADLEY

Amir Khan

The one that got away. This fight generated a considerable amount of buzz a few years back, but never came to fruition. It remains a compelling matchup, as both fighters present problems for each other. The reach and activity rate of Amir Khan could disrupt Tim Bradley’s game plan. “Desert Storm” Bradley could use his superior boxing skills to exploit holes in Khan’s defense. Bradley wins a comfortable, yet competitive decision by battering Khan on the inside.

Danny Garcia

ZAB JUDAH-DANNY GARCIA

An East Coast showdown between these two heavy hitters could produce fireworks. Zap Judah has the definite experience and speed advantages, and the Brooklynite has seemingly found himself again. But Danny Garcia demonstrated an “iron will” (something you don’t see enough of today) in his last fight against Amir Khan. Garcia took Khan’s best shots and kept coming forward, eventually stopping the Brit and claiming his two alphabet titles. A unification match between these two would be highly competitive, with Judah likely getting the nod.

CRIS ARREOLA-DEONTAY WILDER

Deontay Wilder

Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder needs a step up in class, and Cris Arreola would be a perfect opponent. The former world title challenger has shown a deeper commitment to his craft in his last string of fights since losing to Tomasz Adamek, and would provide a stiff test for the undefeated Wilder. The toughness of Arreola would not be enough to offset Wilder’s freakish 84 inch reach, and the Bomber’s power would hand the Nightmare his second TKO loss.

Donaire KOs Fernando Montiel

NONITO DONAIRE-GUILLERMO RIGONDEAUX

122 lb. WBO Nonito Donaire has claimed that WBA 122 lb. counterpart Guillermo Rigondeaux is not enough of a draw to face him, but perhaps he should look at his own ticket sales before making such judgments. Rigondeaux is widely considered one of the greatest amateurs of all time, and would give the Filipino Flash all he could handle. Can’t help but seeing Guillermo dropping Nonito multiple times with hard body shots to Donaire’s flabby midsection en route to a wide decision win.
