GUYS AROUND VICTOR CONTE ARE TESTING POSITIVE

Victor Conte

San Francisco, CA– There is little doubt today, that if you’re an athlete hooked up with Victor Conte, head of Sports Nutrition for Advanced Conditioning, formerly of BALCO Labs, then you tend to come under a great deal of scrutiny in regards to Performance Enhancing Drugs. Marion Jones, former Olympic gold medalist, went to jail for committing perjury regarding her steroid use. Barry Bonds, former San Francisco Giant and all-time Major League Baseball home run leader, was placed under house arrest regarding his not telling the truth under oath about steroids.

Andre Berto

BERTO HAD “TRACE ELEMENTS” OF “SUICIDAL STEROID”

Andre Berto, former world boxing champion, tested positive for steroids a fortnight ago, that’s why Josesito Lopez was called in at the last minute to take on and upset Victor Ortiz on Saturday night. The drug Nandrolene, or some “trace elements” of it were found in Berto’s system. This steroid stays the longest in a an athlete’s system and is akin to committing “athletic suicide” if you know you’re going to be tested as it can stay with you from 18 months to two years.

CONTE’S ONLY KNOWN BASEBALL CLIENT SUSPENDED!

Now another one of Conte’s clients, Marlon Byrd, formerly of the Chicago Cubs, now with the Boston Red Sox, has been suspended for 50 games for testing positive for steroid-related drugs. Now a lot of people say whether smoke there’s fire, but I disagree this time. Look, Conte worked with David Rodriguez, head case, steroid user, and undefeated heavyweight pretender. From that I have to tell you I think his heart is in the right place as he worked for free with Rodriguez for almost a month trying to get them cleaned up steroid wise, as well as mentoring David both physically and emotionally. After that experience, my impression was that David wasted Victor’s time and his manager Bob Spagnola’s money.

MARLON BYRD ISSUES STATEMENT

Marlon Byrd

“I made an inexcusable mistake. Several years ago, I had surgery for a condition that was private and unrelated to baseball. Last winter, I suffered a recurrence of that condition and I was provided with a medication that resulted in my positive test. Although that medication is on the banned list, I absolutely did not use it for performance-enhancement reasons.”

BYRD SAYS CONTE HAD “NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS”

In regards to Conte, who must have an Excedrin-type of headache of late, “Victor had nothing to do with this,” Byrd told USA TODAY Sports in a text message. “He didn’t know about me taking Tamoxifen or the positive test until two days ago.” Tamoxifen, known in the United States is Nolvadex, blocks the effects of the estrogen hormone in the body. It is used to treat breast cancer in women or men and is used by steroid users to prevent the growth of breast tissues in men and to stop post-cycle crashes.

AM I IGNORING MY OWN BASIC INTINCTS?

In closing, being a former law enforcement officer, I don’t believe in coincidences. That being said, I do believe that Conte is clean in all this. Look, Victor is a type of guy that sizes you up. If there is something to glean from you, he is more than likely work with you. That’s Victor, plain and simple.

DON’T BELIEVE CONTE WOULD RISK MORE PRISON OR HIS NAME

But I just can’t believe that he would give his clients nowadays anything illegal. Although I’ve known Conte since his days playing bass with Tower Of Power, all I can say is that during the time I spent around him since his BALCO days were over and is now running SNAC, Victor didn’t do anything that would make me, and I looked, even slightly suspicious of him.
