SAGA OF AN ADMITTED FELON BOB ARUM
San Francisco, CA– Boxing promoter Bob Arum is a Harvard graduate. That being said, as smart as Arum is the man has admitted to a number of Felonies in a US Dept. of Justice affidavit he signed in the mid 1990s. This involved the bribing of then IBF President Bob Lee Sr., and how he funneled the money internationally through boxing manager/agent Stan Hoffman (around $150,000) in order for then heavyweight champion George Foreman to fight the “unrated” Axel Schultz, who by the way, probably deserved to have his hand raised when the two did meet in Las Vegas in 1995.
“YESTERDAY I WAS LYING, BUT TODAY I’M TELLING THE TRUTH”
The above os yet another famous quote that emanated fro the lips of Bob Arum, who as most of you know promotes Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao. For better than two years now, Arum has come up with a number of excuses (see bull shit) as to why Manny would not fight Floyd Mayweather. I would publish his words, but redundancy is tiring. Still, nobody in the “real” boxing media has had the stones to call Arum out on it. Not his lackey Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, who used to sleep overnight on couches (that’s plural because of Rafael’s abundant girth) in the Top Rank office while writing for USA Today, nobody has the guts to call Arum what radio talk show host Stephanie Miller bellows, “a lying sack of crap.”
MAYWEATHER IS A JERK TO SAY THE LEAST
Now if you thought I was going to dump all over Arum sans taking a shot at Floyd Mayweather Jr., you were wrong. This spoiled, pampered millionaire, although brilliant in his business moves, has whipped on women (again, plural), hit a man over the head with a champagne bottle, kicked a downed man in a Michigan pool hall, I could probably go on (and on) but I think I’ve made my point in that I wouldn’t want him dating my daughter. With mood swings that can go from the south pole to the north pole in the space of a single conversation, one never knows what Floyd is going to say or do next.
PACQUIAO LOOKS TO BE LESS THAN A MAN
A fortnight ago, Manny Pacquiao, the man who supposedly employs the aforementioned Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, said that he would adhere to “random” drug testing.” If your memory is not watered down by Mr. Arum’s-Jim Jones-like Kool Aid, you should recall that it was Pacquiao’s refusal of such testing that thwarted the Pacquiao-Mayweather match that was all but signed for March 2010. Manny also told the Filipino press that he would, “Take less money” than Floyd in order to make the match. So why then are the two not fighting on May 5? Why, because to again quote Stephanie Miller, all three, Bob, Manny and Floyd are, “lying sack(s) of crap.”
