CAN BERTO ERASE CLOSE LOSS?

Los Angeles, CA– The first major attraction of the New Year 2012, will feature two hard-hitting welterweights. The Victor Ortiz vs. Andre Berto rematch will compete for supremacy among the welterweight elite on February 11, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. Their first clash took place on April, 17th 2011, and was a remarkable, electrifying contest between two fistic warriors. The bout featured a fun-filled night that produced four knockdowns between both athletes. Victor handed Berto (28-1, 22 KOs) his first loss in the paid ranks and in the process the WBC belt

NO HUGGING OR KISSING PLEASE!

Ortiz, (29-3, 22 KOs), had some intense, deep affections for Floyd Mayweather jr., in his last fight and Mayweather sucker-kissed Ortiz in the mouth with a left hook right hand that aborted their tango in the fourth round. Now we all hope that Victor has learned to keep his hands up and not to head-butt a foe and expect any love in return. Ortiz, has yet another opportunity to redeem himself after another disappointing performance. Victor has no one to blame but himself and his fondness for displaying affection in the ring for another man. All jokes aside, Ortiz has all the physical attributes along with a great story that sells. It’s the mental aspect of his game that concerns this writer, does he has the strength to endure adversity?

THIS FIGHT “MUST SEE” TV

The Ortiz vs. Berto press conference was staged at Marriot Hotel in Downtown L.A. Both stars appeared to be in supreme condition along with the self-assurance of who would succeed in their second meeting. As they walked around, they greeted the media & press with smiles of great anticipation of another outstanding fight. As soon as the conference was to commence, both men greeted one another with much respect, but still maintained that killer instinct as they separated. Will World War II repeat itself?

SHOWTIME STARTS OFF 2012 WITH A BANG!

Showtime will be granted promotional assistance from CBS Corporation, along with valuable resources consisting of CBS Television and neighboring radio and television stations. Showtime and CBS will combine their strength and power to maintain and uphold for the good of the sport by advertising for a non-PPV event on its premium network. This is a first for a fight with no pricetag that will be televised live and free to subscribers on Showtime.

BERTO VOWS TO BE THE “VICTOR” AGAINST VICTOR

Berto’s team has demanded Olympic style drug-testing and a confident Ortiz agreed with no hesitations. The former IBF titleholder approached the podium and as usual declared war on his nemesis and promised another classic for the ages. The kid from Oxnard, didn’t reveal as much nor did he seem interested in his words, simply stated he was at 50% in their first meeting and would triumph over his adversary. At times, “Vicious” seemed agitated with the same questions recycled between interviews. The Haitian from Winter Haven, FL had a sense of urgency with questions relating the loss, making no excuses with more excuses. He stated “I wasn’t at my best, but I will bring Ortiz down hard. I won’t be denied!”
