WORLD BOXING ORGANIZATION DONAIRE-NARVAEZ OFFICIALS PICKED

San Juan, Puerto RicoWorld Boxing Organization (WBO) President Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referee and judges who will work on the Bantamweight (Nonito Donaire vs Omar Narvaez) and Jr Heavyweight (Marco Huck vs Rogelio Rossi) title bouts, respectively, to be held in New York and Germany.

PACO’S THE REASON WBO DOESN’T BATHE IN CONTROVERSY

Valcarcel reported that the referee for the first title defense of the 118 lb. champion Donaire (26-1, 18 KOs) against former Flyweight and Super Flyweight champion Narvaez (35-0-2, 19 KOs) at the Madison Square Garden in New York in a Top Rank presentation, the referee is Benjy Esteves. The judges for the Donaire-Narvaez clash are Julie Lederman, Thomas Schreck and Steven Weisfield. Supervisor will be Richard de Cuir.

WBO TITLE SCRAP IN GERMANY

Meanwhile, for the eight defense of the Jr Heavyweight crown for Huck (33-1, 24 KOs) versus Rossi (17-2-1, 11 Kos) at the Arena Ludwigsburg, Germany, the referee will be Paul Thomas from the United Kingdom. This fight is a Sauerland Events presentation. The judges for the Huck-Rossi fight are Carlos Colon from Puerto Rico, Denny Nelson from United States and Matteo Montella D’Airola from Italy. WBO Supervisor for this fight will be Edoardo Ceccoli.
