FLOYD MAYWEATHER-VICTOR ORTIZ FIGHT NOT EVEN CLOSE

San Francisco, CA– Seeing the fight last 11 minutes and 59 seconds, there isn’t a whole lot to write about. Floyd Mayweather, much to the chagrin of the Manny Pacquiao fans that I watched the fight with, Floyd for the most part “out boxed” Ortiz who tried, but he kept eating right hand leads. While Harold Lederman gave Ortiz round 2, i didn’t. Having Floyd up by three points going into the 4th, the low light of the fight was Victor head butting Floyd towards the end of round 4. Referee Joe Cortez took a point as the head butt was so intentional, that Cortez penalized Ortiz. When they came together after the infraction, Victor had his hands dow, Floyd threw a left hook and a right hand and Victor went down, tried getting up, but couldn’t get up by the count of ten. Time was 2:59 of round 4. Floyd 42-0, 26 KOs, Ortiz is now 29-3-2, 22 KOs. Lots of heart shown by Larry Merchant, who told Floyd, “If I was 50 years younger, I’d kick your ass.”
