WWE MURDERS AKIN TO O.J. SIMPSON
San Francisco, CA– In recent years, outside of O.J. Simpson beheading ex-wife Nicole, both of whom I knew, no act of violence in the sports or entertainment world has come close to equaling the murders of Nancy and Daniel Benoit by WWE star Chris Benoit. Having learned of some of the gory events that transpired that weekend in June 2007, I am reluctant to share all of them with you because of the incredible ugliness involved.
HORRIFIC TALE EVEN FOR EX-COP
Before I get to the meat of this segment, Part 6 of the Chris Benoit “Double Murder & Suicide” story and the issue of Steroids, I want to say that this was not the easiest series of articles I’ve written in 40+ years.
BOXES OF EVIDENCE AND PILES OF REPORTS
At times, I got nauseous at both the voluminous amount of physical evidence and the gruesomeness of the crime. The fact that a man could kill his wife, that happens quite often in this country. But to kill a seven year old boy, his son by blood, really struck a chord within me.
EVANDER HOLYFIELD “CURED” FROM STEROID USE
There were a number of MD’s prescribing Steroids to various wrestlers, professional ball players, both MLB and the NFL, as well as some boxers. Although Evander Holyfield will deny using Steroids at any point in his life, my buddy of 30 years is full of ****! Besides displaying symptoms of Steroid usage, loss of hair, acquiring incredible muscle mass at close to 220 lbs., this after competing in the Olympics at 178 lbs., the irregular heart condition he said was cured (for $25,000) by television evangelist Dr. Benny Hinn, or his getting Steroids delivered from a Florida pharmacy to his house under the name of Evan Fields, something that, I was told was sworn to in an affidavit by the delivery person.
MCMAHON HAD STEROID DR. IN LOCKER ROOMS
Another MD, one from Harrisburg, PA named George Zahorian, hung around the WWE dressing rooms until Vince McMahon, the WWE CEO was tipped off to the fact that the DEA and other Law Enforcement agencies were ready to close ranks on Zahorian and his prescribing Steroids to wrestlers both alive and some dead.
HULK HOGAN SKATES BUT STILL EXPOSED AS STEROID CHEAT!
Zahorian was convicted in 1990 of 11 counts of illegally distributing controlled substances. There were a number of wrestlers who testified against Dr. Z., Billy “Superstar” Graham, Rick Martel and Roddy Piper top the list. As for Hulk Hogan, what a liar he turned out to be. Even though his subpoena to testify was quashed by the WWE’s super lawyer Jerry McDevitt, he then went on Arsenio Hall’s show and fibbed when he said he only took Steroids twice to recover from injuries. This was disputed under oath by a number of individuals who said they either shot Hogan up or witnessed it happening. When I confronted Hogan on his lying at the George Foreman-Alex Stewart post fight press conference on August 11, 1992, his PR team attacked me orally and to a lesser extent physically, this before the nearly 300 lb. Hogan turned and ran like a 300 lb. beach
VINCE MCMAHON ADMITTED STEROID USE!
In the mid 90s, the US Justice Dept. indicted Vincent Kennedy McMahon, then sole owner of the WWE and charged him with Distributing Steroids. McMahon was found Not Guilty, even though a number of wrestlers indicated that Vince was the catalyst, the bridge from Dr. Z to Steroid use by his wrestlers. In addition, Vince seemingly only “pushed” Steroid monkey-types to the top of his promotion. In the course and aftermath of the trial, it was revealed that McMahon himself had admitted to using Nandrolone, an anabolic steroid.
BENOIT’S STEROID USE LED TO PARANOIA & DEPRESSION
As I’ve relayed in other segments of this story, Chris Benoit was being prescribed 10 months of Steroids every three weeks by the now incarcerated Dr. Phil Astin, a former Atlanta based physician, that same MD whose prescriptions were on the nightstand where Benoit’s last “real” wrestling friend, Johnny Grunge was found dead in 2006. If Eddie Guerrero’s death in 2005 from Steroid abuse, if that didn’t push Benoit to the brink of “losing it,” Grunge’s death was from my research the lynchpin.
UNFRIENDLY BENOIT TALKED EVEN LESS POST EDDIE
This turned the clinically depressed Benoit into such a “paranoid” state that he moved his family into the estate in which they all died, in order to have the ultimate of privacy and security (paranoia) that included a security coded gate and two German Shepherd watch dogs, who unlike my canine watched a lot more than the dinner plate.
DRUGS IN BENOIT AT TIME OF MURDERS-SUICIDE!
Besides a Testosterone level of 49-1, with the Olympic cut off being 4-1, Benoit had Hydrocodone, Xanax (Anti-anxiety medication), Zoloft (an antidepressant) and (Chinese) Human Growth Hormone in his system. Benoit was a friggen’ mess, all the while with his testicles having shrunk to a level medically described as “atrophied.”
TEXT SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT WWE STEROID POLICY (SIC)
Wife Nancy was knocking him for not putting out in the bedroom, and of course she sent him this text the month before he killed her and Daniel. “Grow up 40 years for mighty sakes. Get off the stuff, it’s obvious that I’m probably not the only one who can see, and we both know that the (World Wrestling Entertainment) wellness program is a joke.”
Six weeks later, Nancy was strangled to death, (garroted) by Benoit.
VINCE MCMAHON”S PARTIAL BLAME FOR BENOIT DEATHS!
The Vince McMahon supporters cling to what McMahon said three days after the bodies we’re discovered, “We had no idea he was a monster,” this after knowing many hours before airing a “Chris Benoit Tribute” show on USA Cable that Benoit had murdered his family and then hung himself. The reason I lay the blame at the feet of Vincent Kennedy McMahon is that Chris Benoit failed “four straight” Steroid tests in a row over a one year period prior to the June 2007 carnage.
OTHER GUYS FIRED FOR LESS!
And while they suspended wrestlers like Chris Masters for a lesser amount of offenses, the WWE, meaning Vince McMahon, turned a blind eye to Benoit failing four Steroid tests.
“WELLNESS (STEROID) POLICY” AS FAKE AS WWE MATCHES
In closing, Benoit was never officially reprimanded or suspended. Before I go, I’ll leave you with this, according to the WWE Wellness program, “If you are caught three times, you are terminated from the company.”
VINCE “PHONIEST BASTARD” ON PLANET!
So next time you hear Vince McMahon bellowing about his WWE Wellness Program, remind him that by allowing Chris Benoit to use Steroids with reckless abandon, fail four tests sans any reprimands, suspensions, or his being terminated, that he was something of a co-conspirator in the murders of Nancy and Daniel Benoit!
FINALE “PART 7” MONDAY GETS INTO BOXING TOO!
“Repetitive Concussion Syndrome” will be explored in the final installment of this story that irked some of you and thrilled others. “Repetitive Concussion Syndrome” affects NFL players, boxers, professional wrestlers, rugby and soccer players.
