DOOR HAS CLOSED ON MANNY PACQUIAO & FLOYD MAYWEATHER!

“Young” Manny Pacquiao

San Francisco, CA– You would have thought I had stuck my hand in a hornets nest, when I was instead stating what is quite obvious to anybody who can spell B-O-X-I-N-G, that is Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are currently in different boxing stratospheres. And after their last two fights, are the Pacnuts even watching the same two guys?

PACQUIAO GOOD TO & FOR HIS PEOPLE

This is not being written with the intent of disparaging the Filipino Congressman, already the greatest athlete in the country’s history, and who knows, someday might end up holding the Philippine Presidency.

FIGHTING IS NOT LIKE BASEBALL OR HORSE SHOES

That is not related to Pacquiao the politico, but Pacquiao the professional prizefighter, who like all a lot of greats is at the end of meteoric run in the squared circle of combat. Truth is being on the downslide in boxing, unlike other sports, can be harmful to the participant.

“OLD” MAFIA WOULDN’T PUT MANNY IN SO TOUGH!

That is where I have been trying to come from when I’ve been saying that unless a Blinky Palermo type, AKA the Mafia were to “certify” the fight with
Brandon Rios as “safe” by making a phone call to the opponent’s manager, Pacquiao is truly attempting to navigate blindly through uncharted potentially shark infested waters.

FIGHTERS RARELY KNOW “WHAT TIME IT IS”

When fighters are in the “fade” mode as the now 34-year old Pacman is, fans are the last to admit such. Most of us covering the game in 1990 when Mike Tyson was dusted by 43-1 underdog Buster Douglas, knew that Mike was done! After his final fight, Mike admitted he hadn’t performed like “Iron Mike” since 1989 and his blitzing of the recently departed Carl Williams.

MANNY IN DECLINE FOR SOME TIME

In the third Juan Manuel Marquez encounter, Pacquiao looked like he was ready to pack it in as you can see in this photograph between rounds. For the sake of Manny Pacquiao the person, not Manny the fighter or politico, I’m hoping that he doesn’t get hurt here. For if something happened to Pacquiao after his December 2012 slumber party with Juan Manuel Marquez, then the blood of the great one will be on the hands of many.
